2002

I found arbitrage opportunity in closed end funds. Nobel prise winner Richard Thaler called it NAV discount anomaly. There are 3 types of anomalies. False positive, transient & persistent. CEF anomaly persisted. So did I.

2019

CEF index idea is presented to Solactive AG, a German index engineering firm with offices in Frankfurt and Toronto.  Top 50 index is designed to compete with US listed ETFS of CEFs trading on the US exchanges.

2020

The “original” Top 50 Discount and Yield index gets published on Solactive Platform after back testing.  The indexes  are Price Return, Total Return and Net Total Return.  All three versions are still maintained as of May 2024. 

2024
